Summertime Sno-Balls is the place to go in Connecticut for New Orleans Style Shaved Ice.
A mound of fluffy snow topped with one of our 30 flavors is a mouth-watering treat sure to beat the heat on those
hot summer days. This is not your mother's sno cone. No crunchy ice that hurts your teeth!
You can visit us at a fair during the summer and fall or you can hire us for private parties in Connecticut. Keep

HOW IT ALL STARTED
It was in the summer of 1996, when my two bored kids asked me if we could set up a lemonade stand in the front
yard. I thought, sure, why not? We proceeded to get real lemons, sugar and water, a lemon squeezer, cups and
most importantly, ice. Our simple concession adventure was quite successful on a back road with an
unadvertised event.
Bells started going off and it occurred to us, that if we did that well at home we would probably do fantastic at our
local town celebration, New Hartford Day, where hundreds of people would be. We signed up for the event,
bought lots of lemons, sugar, water and ice and went to work. And work we did, we had a non-stop line at our
booth all day and could barely keep up with four of us working. I thought we were the cat's meow when we went
home with a little profit.
NOT JUST A SNO-CONE!
However, not all of us were as pleased as I was. My husband, John, had been watching a man make shaved ice
next to us. He was working alone and did very well for the day. He packed up his one table and a few boxes and
went home looking quite satisfied with the day he had. John had tried the shaved ice and kept raving about how
great this stuff was. I remained unconvinced. "It's just a sno-cone!", I declared, in my total ignorance. That is, until
I tasted it for myself. Pure heaven on a hot day. Smooth and soothing and it didn't hurt my teeth!
Before he left, we told the man if he ever wanted to sell his concession business, to give us a call. We were totally
surprised the next year when he did, in fact, call to offer us the shaved ice business. He didn't have to ask twice.
Snow way we weren't going to get started in the sno-ball business. The rest, as they say, is history! Check out
